DO I NEED TO WEAR A MASK ON THE ICE?

Players do not need to wear a mask when on the ice, however it is mandatory that coaches wear one while on the bench.

WHAT DIVISIONS INCLUDE BODY CHECKING?

Fall/Winter: Follow the tournament location’s local rules. In most cases minor bantam or U14 is the youngest age group with body checking.

Spring/Summer: As of the end of the 2019-20 season (April 1, 2020) the players graduate to the next age group. Therefore body checking will be legal for 2007 born divisions (and older) in 2020. We have a plethora of experience introducing checking for the first time. It is a transition period we manage every year. Most teams view this as an opportune time to learn proper checking technique (giving/receiving) while everyone is the same boat of still learning. It’s a great way to practice and get a head start on the competition next fall. However, there are plenty of teams (for example GTHL A, House Select, AE or MD) that wish to play non-contact. If that is the case please let us know.

We usually have a separate non-contact division for these teams. It is the responsibility of the coach or manager of a non-contact team to notify us of your preference. Otherwise eligible for body checking will be assumed for 2007’s and older.

HOW DO I BOOK A HOTEL?

We have taken steps to secure competitive group rates! Request rooms from our approved hotels (here) on the accommodations tab Hotels will then contact you with an offer(s) afterwards. Questions or direct booking assistance?  Please contact Andre Boudreau: aboudreau@icesports.com In the best interest of all participating teams and the tournament, CCT has entered partnerships with hotels that offer group discounts. All hotel bookings must be approved by CCT staff – Registration is pending this condition is met. This is necessary to better combat the rising costs by the hotel industry and to ensure there are enough accommodations available for teams.

WHAT ARE THE QUALITY OF YOUR REFEREES?

All on ice officials are a minimum level 2 Hockey Canada certified; many are much higher. They come from leagues such as the GTHL, OMHA, Alliance, CJHL (Junior Leagues), etc. Referee in Chief email: cct_ric@icesports.com
